Welcome to Friday Five, where I share five things that are on my mind in the hopes of helping you connect to your Mom Flow.
P.S: don’t forget to listen to this like a podcast using the article voiceover feature at the top of this post.
💕 Leaning into friendships
Let me tell you what we need to do more of in life. Monday dinners with your girlfriends! Getting out of bedtime is a flex and we did just that. My sweet friends treated me to a little birthday celebration at a fave spot of mine and it was such a mood booster for the whole week. It’s rare at my age for ppl to make an effort about your bday and it meant so much to me! Growing up as a summer baby and on a long weekend, I never had big bday parties bc everyone was always out of town so I kind of always missed out, even though my mom always made it so special. That has always stuck with me. Every mom needs girl time and it’s so easy to deprioritize it but it’s so enriching - just talking through some mom struggles I’ve been having lately with Lola’s development and getting their take was something I realized I rarely do, but it was so helpful! So easy to get in our own heads about this momming stuff, and we don’t connect enough IRL with our “village”. Seek out these convos however you can!
🦋 My little social butterfly
I spoke on this in my IG stories, but I’ve been feeling like Lola needs more social time. She is the biggest social butterfly ever, like we are talking J. Lo proportions, and loves making friends and playing so much. I have this mild guilt about her being an only child, and last weekend, we went to the park, just she and I. She was trying so hard to play with different kids at the park but none of them were into it and she came over to me so defeated and said “no one wants to be my friend”. Heart. Smash. I know I can’t bubble wrap her but it made me want to try harder for her to make connections with kids her age. I’m going to work harder at setting up play dates and making her socialization a priority. (the pic in this post is from a playdate this week - wanted to be ‘that mom’ and do some really good snacks. Love this snackle box so much!)
🍂 Fall fashion picks
Lots of questions in my DM’s lately about fall fashion, what I’m buying, what I recommend, especially shoes! I am not one to overdo it with buying new things buuut I do like to update my wardrobe every season with some on-trend pieces (I don’t overdo trends, as you know… I find the fast fashion cycle is moving way too quickly these days and I don’t want to hop on every micro trend there is.
Here are a few things I recommend for fall:
Loafers (these are great)
Mesh flats are still having a moment
This dress is suuuch a big staple in my closet. I love the cut, and it comes in tons of prints. So good for work stuff, events etc. I got the leopard this week. True to size.
These pull on pants make you feel pulled together but they are basically like PJ pants if I’m honest
The UGG Tasman is still going to be popular, and they are a good quick pull on if you like the look (I know, not for everyone)
🤓 Work chat
Work has been going well (I was just asked to speak on a very exciting panel, I’ll tell you more when I can, but I am soooo nervous - speaking IRL always gives me crazy ‘stage fright’), and it feels so great to be back to my normal schedule and I’m ramping up for the fall. In case you don’t know, I have had a marketing business for 11 years, and I work with brands to grow them via strategic marketing. You probably have heard the names of the brands I’ve worked with and grown, but I’m not a name dropper 🙃 Soooo, I do social media content, influencer outreach, basically, full marketing for brands. I love it so so much. I also have MILA which is a marketing education biz that I founded with my sister and we’ve been busy getting our next big launch ready! (our IG is a fun place to be!) And, as you’ve seen on IG, I work with brands on an influencer basis… super picky about my partners when I make an endorsement like that. I also offer 1:1 business coaching calls to talk brand strategy and these are a good fit if you need more clarity or tips on growing or starting your brand. I have one spot for a full-time client starting Sept 1 and I wanted to mention it here just because you may not even know what I actually DO!
😍 A few things you might like
I want to pre-order Stassi’s book, but I actually think I’ll wait for the audio book bc I love celeb memoirs on audio book best.
That’s it for this week. If you like this content, please tap the heart or leave a comment. Huge thank you to Kim, Carolyn and Jon for the comments on my last post.
xx, Erin

Miss Lola, with your guidance will soon be able to understand that not everyone is "friendly". Children, just like adults have good and bad days. In saying that, she's so happy to become "friends" especially while playing. (Ie: Portugal beach) she's a loving child and there's no doubt in my mind that her outgoing personality will shine through as the days and years go by.
Oh man, the stress of play dates for kids is so hard. My girl’s two months younger than yours and exactly the same. Wants to become friends with everyone but not everyone reciprocates :(
