Happy Friday, flow-ers! We’re baaaack in business after The Mom Flow Social Club… it was honestly AMAZING. I wish I could have one every single week. On top of all of the extras (like the wine I’m cozying up to there), we had a group of 25 women and moms who truly connected - the feedback was next level and I’d love to share some words with you here. I was on cloud 9 for days after the event.
I asked you how you felt when you left The Mom Flow Social Club (TMFSC?!):
“I walked out feeling full in every way (emotionally and physically!) — and somehow still wanting more. There’s just something about being around women who really get it.”
“I felt happy to have made new connections!”
“Content! The experience was what I hoped it would be and I left feeling happy, satisfied, and included, if that makes sense!”
“Fulfilled! Important! Seen! Happy!”
And 75% of those who responded said they met someone the will keep in touch with (!!!)
OBSESSED. I just loved meeting you all so much! I’m not sure if and when the next one will happen… so really TBD.
Prefer to listen? It’s like a podcast if you hit the play button at the top of this post. I read it to you with plenty of extra chit chat you didn’t ask for, but might like.
Ohhh what an amazing start to summer we’ve had over here. I’ve been rising to the moment and seriously kicking ass at summer planning. Another motherhood surprise for me? Keeping on top of making summers special, magical, and ticking all the boxes. No, I don’t subscribe to overdoing it, but I’m so freaking aware of how few summers I have with Lola, and really embracing this super fun age. Annnd I like keeping it simple but also popping in some fun moments. I really want our summer to be all about experiences, and that means for all of us. ( Side note: is it mom of an only child thing to be over concerned with these moments being so damn fleeting?!)
As I mentioned before, we aren’t going to Portugal this summer (we usually spend 6 weeks there) because of a fam wedding. I’m actually feeling good about being close to home this summer in our new home, Lola at such a fun age!
I am intentionally slowing down a bit this summer, and I’ve restructured things with work in a way that allows me to do this - a conscious decision I made when I took a good look at what I want our life to look like.
Especially because *drum roll* - my husband has made a huge work change and is moving to a new salon after 9+ years at his current one! The salon he is moving to is pretty well known as the best in the city and it’s a VERY welcome change for him and will be so great for our family for so many reasons. Let’s just say I’m very very pleased about it. Obviously though, this move will be a big change around here so I need to be a bit more supportive around the house, therefore, my schedule needs to be a tad more flex if at all possible.
I literally wanna hang with Lola and my fam as much as possible. My sis and her fam are moving closer to us (a 4 hour drive!) so they will come to visit for Lola’s baptism and for my brother-in-law’s wedding. Like so dreamy.
We have child care all summer because we have Lola in a daycare on non-preschool days during the school year… so she will just go full time there for the summer. Her last summer with full time care. I’ve carved out two weeks for her to try some fun camps (Biking Camp to get her on two wheels - I had no idea it was time until I saw her friends on two wheels?! And Frozen Ballet Dance Camp with a preschool friend. She’s never done any dance classes bc she prefers sports usually so that should be interesting).
I hope the graphic above with what we will do this summer gives you some ideas to make your own summer something to remember! Oh, and freezer is stocked with lots of freezies and popsicles bc I swear, the best summer mems are made around them!
I’ve been wearing this necklace every chance I get - love the pop of blue and the sardine screams Portugal summer to me. I also love my special letter charm with Lola’s initial.
I’m an occasional listener to the Call Her Daddy podcast, but wow, the documentary about Alex is phenomenal and sheds so much light on her life - I’m now a huge fan!
We have a patio off our primary be
droom and I’m determined to actually use it - this patio set is a dupe for one that costs 5x as much, and it’ll make the space super cute (minus the table!)
The Nodpod has become a serious sleep secret weapon for me. It’s cooling, weighted, and blocks out the light. It’s not your typical sleep mask at all, it lays on top of your eyes and gives a gentle pressure to calm. I swear, it helps me get back to deep sleep when I wake up too early. Can’t live without mine.
I’ve been wearing these sunnies non-stop. I love a trendy pair of well priced sunnies!
That’s it for this week. If you like this content, don’t forget to show up for me with a like or comment. Hoping to see ya’ll in the comments! Thanks for the comments on my last post Janeisie, Sydne, Mal, Andrea, Caprice, Lori and Anika. Means a lot!
xx, Erin
