Erin, you nailed it again when you described the guilt you can feel "if I'm not always frantic and barely hanging on". Why do we sustain that pace of life and that guilt alongside slowing down? Thanks for the reminder to enjoy the slower side of summer! Oh, and those water squirters are so fun!!

I align with you on the summers at home. I love the summer slowdown. As a business owner and tech contractor, I’ve come to truly embrace quiet weekends and the rhythm that comes with this time of year. While it feels like the entire world has migrated to Europe for peak “Instagram season,” there’s something grounding about staying put and letting summer unfold at home.

Spring gave me a beautiful taste of Europe before the summer crowds took over, and I’ll be heading back in late fall when things settle down again. But for now, this pause, this space, is exactly what I need to fill my bucket. Slower mornings, backyard dinners, time with friends makes me realize that there’s a richness in it that travel can’t always replicate.
